Wondering what the benefits of outdoor training are and why you should train outside with us?
Simple – there are loads of reasons!
6 reasons for outdoor training
1. Fresh air
You're out in the fresh air, your body gets plenty of oxygen and you can perform at your best. Quite different from a stuffy gym.
2. Soak up the sun
Your body can soak up plenty of sun, which gives you enough vitamin D and can help prevent tiredness.
3. Toughening up
And when the sun isn't shining and it might even be raining? That's what rain jackets are for! This way you toughen up your immune system and get sick less often in the cold season.
4. Good mood
The good mood you'll have after a workout in the fresh air deserves a mention too, of course!
5. Fat burning and muscle building
Circuit training with punchy intervals really gets your metabolism going and boosts fat burning. Strength exercises build muscle and can raise your basal metabolic rate in the long term, making it easier to lose weight – and above all to keep it off – while your body becomes firmer and fitter.
6. A real team
Along the way you'll meet lots of great people: because we train in small groups, our members get to know each other and become a team. Training together is much more fun and can become a fixed part of your everyday life.
More variety for your run
Want to make your own training more varied? Is your usual run getting boring and no longer challenging you? To boost your metabolism and strengthen your cardiovascular system, you can build small exercises into your run:
- Passing a bench? How about a few jumps onto it, some dips or a few incline push-ups against it?
- See some stairs? Great – a few quick stair runs will really get your heart pumping!
- A few sprints (approx. 10 seconds) mixed into your run add variety.
- Push-ups, squats, burpees or other exercises can be added, e.g. halfway through your run.
And just like that you have more ways to make your training more efficient and varied – and to have even more fun.
On top of that, the intervals increase the afterburn effect – so you keep burning more calories than usual for several hours after your run.
